I can remember things from 3 years ago, before my last psychotic break. Ever since then, though, I can hardly remember anything. I mean, don’t remember everything before that break, but my memory was certainly better than it is now.
I have fuzzy memories since my last episode. But fortunately I no longer dwell on negative or sad moments of the past. This allows me to focus on the here and now.
My voices made me remember my past by bringing up everything I ever done wrong.
I have black outs, like when I was in elementary school, I would suddenly “wake up” and wonder how I got to class, I don’t know how early that started but I do remember it in like 3rd grade or so
If I sit down and really try I can remember a lot of my past. I have a basic blueprint in my mind of what’s happened in the last 50 years. The jobs, the different living situations, people, hospitals, group homes, school etc. I remember the main events. Certain experiences stand out, I tend to think of some of them a lot more often than others. But if I really try I can think of many details of my past.
Large gaps caused by trauma. What I do remember is very clear though.
I have big gaps where I don’t remember a thing.
It’s one big blank.
My brother on the other hand remembers everything from our childhood.
I have an incredibly good memory for things i dont need to remember. Everything else i forget ![]()
@Itsme that could also be a sign of multiple personality disorder, that’s maybe due to severe childhood trauma. What does your therapist say about it?
Honestly I’ve never talked to anybody about it, i just kinda live with it you know
