I have new wish. I wAnt to learn to play flute, probably native american wooden. I dont know where to start, which to buy, and is it very hard to learn to play flute?

I used to play the piano before illness. I took lessons for 6 years and I was pretty satisfied with my level (which was probably average). But in the beginning it was hard. You need some talent and also passion, otherwise it’s frustrating.

I played drums and flute in Grade 7, flute is not that hard to learn, especially if you enjoy it

I play the penny flute. It’s very simple to learn. I figured it all out in a couple weeks.

I used too play the flute when I was a teenager, mine was a silver plated one made by Jupiter, and it was easy to play.
Here is a picture of a native American wooden flute, I have never played one, but they look simple to play.

I play piano and keyboard. And not very well. Even though I’ve been playing for the past eleven and a half years. When I was a child, I played the recorder, the piano and the guitar.

I play the NAF. I have two from highspirits.com and one made by Paul Neal which you can find on EBay. F# is the traditional key and sounds lovely. The NAF is all about self expression and the hardest thing IMHO is breath control. YouTube has wonderful vids of instruction by Odell Borg. But really if it gives you joy that’s all that matters. Check out Carlos Nakai for inspiration. May Kokopelli bless your flute playing endeavors.

The other day I tried to play fleur de lis and I could only remember the first part, so I started improvising it! My friend was like hey how did that song go from classical to jazz all of a sudden?
He said it was pretty good improv!
I have never taken piano lessons, I just like to play by ear. I learned the fleur de lis part by memory and ear alone!
I did play recorder in elementary. Native American flute sounds aweeeeesome! Can you read music? There’s some free sheet music online for Native American songs:

I have played flute since I was 9 years old 
it’s not really that hard of an instrument to learn. Figuring out how to blow into it at first can be tricky but that’s it.

LS When I was young I was taught to play recorder. Now I sometimes, age 59, play Youtube background music and improvise some music. I bought two plastic recorder flutes for ten and twenty dollar. A wooden flute would need maintenance, like oil every three month or so. There is lots of help on the internet if you want to learn to play the recorder.

no. i didn’t type that. lol. even if i did play with myself, i wouldn’t tell. lol.
i play myself. I can’t play anything other than what I am. and i have no shame in that.
also, i’ve not played a flute before, at least not that i can remember.
