The government says it is cheaper for us to live in apartments alone than group homes, so I heard. I have lived alone since 2008. It has been hard. I have very slowly gotten used to it. I have never had a guest in this latest apartment. There’s some mentally ill folk in my building but they are antisocial.
Do you live alone and do you like it? And how often do you see friends and family?
I’ve been living alone for a long time. I don’t see my family enough (they have their own health issues and I don’t have a car to help them out). I haven’t had friends in years. It’s distraction free here, for the most part (I have no pets either), but very difficult to bear this much isolation.
I live with my brother and my mother comes out quite often. We see our other siblings in varying degrees but I have my dog to keep me company, we barely are separated. I would become disturbed if I spent too much time alone.
I sleep in my own room. There are eight other people here, and they all have their own room, with a
huge common area and a kitchen. It’s not a bad arrangement. I like it.
There’s a jumping zebra spider in the corner of the ceiling, near my computer desk. He refuses to move or pay rent.
I hope you have a safe place to live right now.
