Do you like office jobs, or do you like blue collar jobs

I am a blue collar guy. Do you like office jobs, or do you like manual labor(blue collar jobs).

There is a limit to which the human body can withstand the manual labor in a blue collar job. Lifting heavy objects, using your lower back and doing repetitive moves does takes its toll on your body but does provide a good workout due to physical exertion.

On the other hand, office jobs require knowledgeable skills with software applications because of constant computer use. Computer skills such as the use if Microsoft Office Apps, basic copy cut & paste functions and familiarity with specially coded applications for company operations is a need to know how.

In conclusion, I would pick office job over blue collar job even if the blue collar job paid more because of the fewer physical injuries I would sustain at the job site.

Right now, I’m a blue collar worker, but aim to go into the legal field. Most people I know are blue collar workers.

I’ve done both. There both good. It’s more the environment and who you work with. You can have a really bad time in both blue or white collar if the people and environment are bad.

Some of my favorite work times was just spraying bleach on houses with pressure washers with friends or working on roofs

I do a little of both.

My delivery driver job is blue collar, driving, sorting and delivering parcels.

My freelance computer work is doing office type tasks. Setting up peoples emails, a little web programming, software installation, teaching people how to do certain things, etc…

I enjoy both.

I’ve done both. But I didn’t like to be in front of a computer the whole day. I definitly prefer to use my body. I currently work in a shop which is not very demanding physical.

The hardest job I ever had was as a nursing assistant in a nursing home. I worked 2 jobs. 16 hours a day. I had around 8 patients that couldn’t take care of themselves, to take care of, per job. It is a very hard and sometimes, thankless job. I wanted to work in an office after that and eventually did (a medical office) and it was much easier.
Now (at 52), I am going to be starting a job working from home on the computer. Talk about sedentary! I have no excuse not to exercise.

I worked in hospitals and they have unrealistic expectations and patient targets that must be met to justify your existence on a day by day basis. I worked as a machinist and there were quotas. They would account for every minute of time within a day of production. So an ideal job would be one that was semi lax and not constantly pushing the profit motive into your head throughout the workday. So, I can’t conceive of a perfect job, just one where a person is more willing to sacrifice ones freedom. That job would likely have poor pay.

I’ve only done office jobs. Maybe I would like blue collar jobs better but I’ve never tried.

I prefer office jobs but worked both.

I never had an office job…i always worked blue collar. I wouldnt mind alot of career paths. Alot of people told me to do construction but im not that great at building thiings. I did take welding classes when i was 19 but i dropped out a month before program ended. I mostly worked at hotels.

Uh, I’ve been reduced to playing with my lady cat’s toe beans.

Haha!

Just remember, it pushes the paw it gets the claw.

If I scratch behind her ear she’ll curl her back foot on the same side. She loves it when I massage the toes of that foot at the same time I’m scratching her ear. I can figure out the combination of every cat on the planet given enough time.
