the eel sushi the Soba noodles the Okonomiyaki and all the rest.
I do love Japanese food.
I also like vietnamese food and korean food.
Sorry for letting you to repeat this triple times at least.
If not mistaken, Unagi is actually eel…
Thanks SurprisedJ for participating. I don’t know anything about Vietnamese food. May be you can introduce to me next time.
There is HUGE new Vietnamese and Korean community developing on the edge of our rather large China town.
Foods I’ve never seen or had a chance to know are becoming common around the city. It’s been fun learning about them and having some adventure in going out to eat.
Yes, diversity in culture and food are good. What I can say is you have openmindedness which is a attribute I am longing for.
I haven’t tried Japanese food yet but I would love to try sushi. I guess it’s rice wrapped in sea weeds. Is it called sushi?
I’ll try it one day, soon
I haven’t really tried much Japanese food. I don’t want to eat uncooked seafood or meat. I’m sure there’s more to it than that but I haven’t really tried any of it.
I do like wasabi peas, I’ve tried those.
Yes, you’re right.
But in my country these rice rolls are expensive.
Yeah, those raw fish… But Teriyaki is fried, in case uncooked food is your concern.
Looks like Japanese (and Korean?) food aren’t that popular?
My friend once told me that it’s very delicious. You dip it in sauce and it tastes yummy…
Yes I like Japanese food. My first taste was as a young boy when we had two Japanese exchange students living with us.
It must be their pleasure for having had the opportunity to live with you as exchange student.
What other aspects that you had observed from the Japanese besides their food?
When people are just getting into sushi here in my state… I always suggest California roll
Rice… avocado… cucumber… and a bit of the fake crab OR sometimes a tiny bit of cream cheese.
So no fish in it.
Then I suggest going to any of the tuna rolls or Dragon Roll
it’s still no nori/ seaweed… it’s wrapped in avocado.
Has tuna in it… since most people know tuna… sometimes here in the states the tuna is smoked so it’s not raw…
then salmon…
Then on to the tempura rolls or the eels… or the shrimp and crab…
It’s making my mouth water. I didn’t know that sushi can be in so many flavours.
Tuna Sashimi …
And what do you say in Japanese for something tasty or delicious?
Well I was very young…there were differences but also similarities between us…we played a lot of Nintendo and basketball with them…they were very quiet compared to the average American kid but how much of this was the fact that they didn’t speak a whole lot of English I don’t know. They were also very respectful and neat compared to us…but then if I were in a foreign country I believe I would be respectful and neat as well.
Hi @mussel, thank you for going the extra miles for further description.
Yes, politeness is observed among the few. I have seen people without politeness, or at least not able to show politeness in all aspects of life. Don’t know why, I still have that impression developed country makes good citizens. Not sure if it is because of better educational background and/or luxurious living standard that make good citizens.
I really like japanese food, they serve one of the best good in the world,I don’t really know how to order it but I do enjoy eating it
Where do you eat? Sushi King?
