I have not had strange dreams in a pretty long time. Have you had strange dreams because of your sz.
I once had a dream about a wolf attacking me and I couldn’t wake up. I eventually waked up around 3 seconds later. It scared me. The wolf got very close to me when he attacked me and he was a few inches from away from me.
My dreams are not repetitive as of recently. They used to, but no longer. They involve strangers and unknown settings, however at least one familiar figure also makes an appearance: usually one of my parents or a friend.
I wouldn’t label my dreams as strange. In my book dreams don’t hold much meaning. For instance, I never get nightmares, whereas a friend of mine gets frequent nightmares and has no mental disorders.
I use to have dreams of being persecuted and killed by the town… or other really crazy dreams about stuff going on in my life. I guess I realize I’m not in as much turmoil as before because I don’t have them now😬

Yes, I do believe it to be a part of my schizophrenic brain, however, I also had PTSD nightmares also, but therapy basically cured that.
It also could be because of our meds; I’ve heard ssri’s in particular can cause abnormal dreams.
Overall, I think mental illness can attribute to odd dreams, but normal people also can have them.
Once I had a dream I was bit by a snake and was dying from the poison. I woke just afterward and felt the same way physically for a little while, for real, but sometimes its hard to know what was real.
Yeah but the worst ones are when its sleep paralysis. So scary. Being awake with your eyes open in bed but literally not being able to move a muscle. Seeing and hearing things in the room. Usually its a shadowy humanoid figure that creeps over to me and puts its hands on me and i feel like its sucking the life out of me. Havent had it for a while though thank God.
