I have two kids with disabilites from birth til today, and I’ve never made it outta poverty. the most I ever made was $12 an hour.
I was a great parent. I was there every step of the way.

I really want a baby and worry I’m getting older. I’m 37 now. Also worry I could get ill with a child to care for.
One daughter, just turned 20. Neither wife or I expected kids as neither was supposed to be all that fertile.
Whoops.
Was mostly concerned about kid getting type 1 diabetes, it killed my mom. She lucked out and missed it, it’s bad on my side of the family. We had considered adopting. I’m not worried about her getting SZ. She is very resilient. If she gets it she will likely be one of the ones to learn to manage it like her dad.

My mom never made more than $10 an hour working as a short fry cook for 18 years. My dad was a construction semi driver and he did his best.
I find it interesting that my local McDonald’s is hiring 18+ for around $16 an hour. Heck I’d do that.
I don’t think I could do that, or any cashiering. I go at one pace. been hearing it’s all gonna be kiosk anyway. can’t remember the last time I dined inside, really sat down, and stayed awhile. plus it’s free refills on pop.

I’m a parent. I have a son. He will be 4 months old soon. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done in my life. We aren’t rich but we have given him the gift of life and he is loved unconditionally

I’ve always had low income while raising my daughter also. She learned the value of a hard earned dollar, and has learned to find joy in what she can afford. She’s not entitled, which she very well could have been if I had given her all she wanted. It’s ok for kids to learn that you have to work hard to get the things you want in life.

If I find a woman, and we seem like a lock, I might decide to have kids, but it would be a complex decision I can’t theory craft what that would look like from here.
