I’m trying to improve mine, maybe I can get back to my younger days when I had the cardio of an athlete.
I think having good cardio is good for mental health.

I used to walk on my treadmill a lot about 10 years ago, and I think it did improve my mental health. I need to get back on it more consistently, but I have been struggling with motivation lately.
Nah… Im Fat and out of shape. I bike and lift but it’s really slow getting back to were I was.
Nope not anymore. It’s almost impossible to have good cardio on aps. When I was in my 20s I was running 20km runs every second day, just for fun and exercise. Im 40 now and can’t hardly run at alll.
For me it’s impossible to gain muscle on APs, but I think I have improved cardio before, hope it works this time…
Yes you can improve cardio a little bit, but your cardio will be impaired from your natural potential.
Do you know why it is like that?
I looked into it. I found this research paper.Whats a good all round med? - #57 by broken
Basically the genius who wrote the paper concluded that he didn’t know why.
I read some of it. Can’t say that I understand all the terminology completely. If it’s true it sucks though.
I’m pretty sure I have increased my cardio fitness significally in the past while being on antipsychotics.
But maybe you’re right, maybe you can only get so far.
I can be an experiment in that. I’m on 7.5mg zyprexa.
I used to jog while on 10mg of zyprexa, and was pretty fit for a while, but that was 10 years ago before the insomnia hit. With the insomnia I think jogging would deteriorate my health even more. I do manage to do strenght sporadically though, when sleep is not too bad.
Define good. I don’t run a mile in 6 mins anymore. I can easily carry a pizza and soda upstairs.
I’m slowly building up. I spent 10 years mostly on my couch. Now I’m trying to get back into shape.
I started exercising more in May of this year. I went from walk/jogging 1.5 miles at a time to now walk/jogging up to 8 miles. I can jog a mile in 13 minutes now. But my long runs i do intervals of walking and jogging. I try to do one long run a week, plus 3 shorter runs that add up to my long run.
