Do you have a bucket list?

I quit smoking, got married and got a cat which were big items on my bucket list years ago.

There are some smaller things I hope to get done this year like attend a harpsichord recital, see the Milky Way at night, attend a 3d movie and record some more music. Seeing the Milky Way might be the hardest to pull off because of all the light pollution near me.

I went to a planeterium/laser show a couple months ago which I thought was super fun and that had been on my bucket list.

I think the dogs and horses would be great for people with sz/sza. Dogs are very therapeutic. Some can even be trained to let you know if the person/people you’re seeing are really there or not.

What?? I’m not sure I understand. My dog will accept anyone in the house,

she just hates people outside the house. If she thought I was hallucinating people,

she’d likely just blow it off, but even still, she gets barking about nothing at all.

A college degree in electrical or computer engineering or computer science. I have faith that I’ll recover with better meds as my biggest complaint is negative symptoms from APs.

@Daze there are dogs trained as service dogs for people with schizophrenia. When the sz person sees someone they can order the dog to go to the person. But the dog is trained to stay put if no one is there. If they are there, the dog goes up to the person. It’s for people who hallucinate other people following them or bothering them in some way

@daydreamer Can you take steps toward your big dream? And chart where you want to be at each stage?

Wow. I realized when I read this question that I’ve been so focused on taking care of my two kids and just surviving that I haven’t set goals in a long time.

I have a few goals in life:

  • Owning my own home
  • Travelling overseas
  • Learning to speak at least 2 other languages
  • Going back to uni to study medicine, physics or economics

I can speak a little bit of French but i’m in the process of teaching myself this. I’m going overseas in June this year so there’s something off the bucket list. With the other two, i’ll have to wait a bit longer. I’ve only been this well for a short period of time. Want to see that it lasts.

hey pob  idk if i can put a timer on my dreams lol, if they happen i will be grateful

but if i had a choice i’d like to meet a nice girl very soon and have kids hopefully before i am 40

i’d also like to own my own home but this is less of a priority now, i have a car and a nice flat, some great friends so i am half way there, i have almost everything i need atm ttbh

I’m almost there as far as proficiency on the piano is concerned. I’m getting better and better every day. Plus, I’m taking online Spanish lessons and they are really good. Very thorough and repetitive so they stick in the memory. So, all I got to worry about it taking the trips. And, of course, that takes money.

I don’t know. I’m not good at reality. But if you did the dog and horse farm it would take doing some things more than dreaming. But that’s why you are daydreamer. Enjoy being yourself if you are happy.

i know my name is daydreamer pob but i have been genuinely trying to change my dreams into reality, its a slow process but it all adds up, i think a farm would be too much work for me and i probably wouldn’t be able to take care of the animals very well, i’m not very fit and i get stressed easily, it may also be a bit too isolated in the country, i like being on the outskirts sort of in-between best of both worlds.

Yeah. I was thinking of practicalities like money. Acquiring a farm in some way.

It’s good that you are working toward your dreams.

yeah, its too much money, idk how much it is to run a farm but you got to make your overheads and it looks like a lot of farms are barely breaking even sometimes but maybe i’m wrong, i think an eco farm would be nice, what comes from the land goes back to the land sort of thing but i’m totally not cut out for it.

i think everyone should have a dream of some sort, something to aspire to

I probably won’t. It would be too costly. And probably stressful. It would be nice though.

I understand. On my good days I try. Bad not really. It’s bittersweet my goals.
