Basically all my clothes are from flea markets, except underwear, socks and shoes. I have good leather jackets. I remember when I got my leather jacket at one London’s outdoor flea market in 1987. I wore the jacket until 1997 when I got a new leather jacket in Atlanta. I wore this jacket also nearly 10 years and then I got a leather jacket here in my little town. Leather jackets can be quite inexpensive, just 10-15 euros a jacket.
I love a good flea market treasure! Old pipes, razors, books, tools, etc. Delightful!!
No but I buy used electronics from eBay sometimes.
I haven’t gone in a few years, but I love flea markets and farmers markets.
I can usually get some good stuff.
Not to flea markets, but to second hand shops, yes. I love them.
I mostly check out old games and action figures
I would like to search for old books. I made some good finds, written in gothic.
I used to - and would if i need new clothes.
But i hope my clothes I have last me the rest of my life.
I worked in a second hand shop for the last 10 years or so. I’d say half my furniture and clothes are from there as welll as used multimedia and pantry stuff.
It’s possible to find quite a lot of nice things although it takes some looking.
I used to but there are hardly any in town…I love shopping at a thrift store.
Hope my service dog goes with me whether I go. She does not like flea markets.
in singapore, we have carousell, kind of like craiglist i think? so i bought all my expensive electronics, hamster cage there, might be thinking of buying a fish tank there too
I have habitually shopped at thrift and second-hand shops since I was a kid. I don’t see the point of buying new when I can have something used in excellent shape for much less. Re-using is also much kinder to the environment. The problem right now is that people who normally wouldn’t shop there are doing so out of financial stress so the place is more picked over than usual. I have to go frequently to find stuff just as it’s put out.
Always shop there I am poor , but alot of times they have excellent items that need a home / are functional to what I can use for a time.
That’s where I sell the stereo receivers I have refurbished. Currently working on a Sansui G-4700 I got locally from FB Market for $25.00. Should be able to sell it for over $350.00 when done. It’s getting some Dexoit on all the pots, new capacitors, and I’m upgrading the incandescent bulbs and dial pointer light in it to LED. It will be good to go for another 30 years after this.
Not really. The only thing I own from a flea market are my tinted license plate covers.
My account executive has one of those over his plate to save money on photo radar tickets. I’m not sure how much he’s saving as I know he’s been fined for it at least three times over the past year. Keeps getting pulled over by the po po for having it. And the illegally tinted windows.
Most of the thrift shops in our county have closed. There’s one left in my town, doesn’t have tok much besides clothes. I’ve gotten a lot of shirts there and a few kitchen items.
Mine are a very slight tint, you can see through them. I made sure to buy the lightest tint just to add some style.
Never had a problem with the police (knock on wood) and the 407 highway (toll highway) cameras can identify my license plate if I use it, which I rarely do, because I get the bill in the mail.
i got a good leather Jacket cost me £25 i think, and i got a nice pair of shoes for £8 from charity shops
