I don’t go to church out of the belief that hell is best saved for after death. My official religion is a toss-up between Jedi and Pastafarian – depends which will be more irritating to the audience at hand.
I used to be very religious but that led me to a sz crisis in which I really ■■■■■■ it all up. I thought God had cured me and then I became very irrational. Nowadays I believe in God and in the afterlife, but I don’t like organized religion. Sometimes I think that nothing is without reason and so I think that it was for some reason that I was born with Sz.
Born and raised in catholic family. My family wasn’t ever die-hard religious and it wasn’t really shoved down our throats or anything. We only went to church on the holidays. I enjoy church, it’s peaceful, and I used to play in the orchestra for it weekly in hs.
Despite this I don’t really consider myself a catholic or belonging to any other religion. I’m highly spiritual and believe in God though. Sometimes I stress over it. My family is going to pressure me to give my kids religion…like no one in my family is super religious like I said but it’s just like something you DO all the kids get first communion, confirmation, etc. I would rather not have to raise my kids and marry a guy based on a religion I don’t even follow and just agree to to not rock the boat in my family. You know? I’m not sure how to get myself out of that situation…
I grew up in Christian Science, didn’t like it, and might become Catholic thanks in part to writers like Thomas Merton and Richard Rohr. I’d rather not have to attend classes but eh we’ll see
I’m a Buddhist / alternative spiritual person. Teachers whose work I rate are Adyashanti, Thich Nhat Hanh, Osho, George Gurdjieff, Rudolph Steiner, and others.

I have been badly burned by religion and God and now live in a state of semi-madness. There is a God but he or she is a bit sick. He/she doesn’t affirm your beliefs but messes with your head. I never thought I would end up insane. It is a shame, I have been through too much and I only ever wanted a normal life.
One way I heard it said - “The world is my country. To do good is my religion.” I used to believe that, but now I am about to give up on any belief in goodness.
