Do you get unlimited dental care in your country?

US Dental care is limited to 1000-2000$ / year on insurance plans. This is not enough for most people who neglected their teeth and need 10,000$ of treatment so the only option is to pull my teeth for $200 instead of fixing them.

There is a severe shortage of dentists in the uk, cos most of them have gone private. Looking up one here, the nearest is 45 miles away.

Im trying to get a dentist for a new set of dentures. But even at NHS rate its £387

Not in Canada. A lot of the people who come here for free health care are surprised to learn that dental is not considered health care here.

Can you eat m&ms or nuts on dentures?

M and Ms are ok I don’t particularly like nuts.

Thanks. I think I want dentures soon. I can’t take care of my teeth and eating hurts right now.

Its free in England if you claim benefits although you have to pay to see a dental hygienist.

My dental insurance is ■■■■■■■■.

I know I need some cavities filled and should get them done before it gets worse.

But that ■■■■ is expensive and the insurance covers like a third of it.

So, I use my sonicare and floss,

Hoping for the best.

My dental work costs me because I’m not on disability. It’s very expensive. I need to take my teeth more seriously.

Once they start hurting, the more expensive to fix or only option is to pull out the tooth or live in pain is also a horrible option I did for a long time.

Yes. Popcorn as well. Crunchy things aren’t a huge issue with the exception of things like peanut brittle - just don’t (peanut BRUTAL). It’s stuff like biting into an apple or a cob of corn I can’t do. Or chewing on tough pieces of meat. I can bite into a sandwich or burger without difficulty.

Sticky things like toffee or wine gums are also problematic as your bottom denture will stick to them and lift off your gum.

I used to love peanut brittle when my teeth were normal. They were responsible for breaking a lot of my fragile teeth.

But now everything I eat is stressful, causing further crumbling. My case manager got me to finally go to the dentist and fix some of this so I can eat with less anxiety.

I want dentures soon.

My dentures gave me my quality of life back. One of the best decisions I have ever made.

I’m in the US. I have dental insurance through Hubby’s work. I brush and floss my teeth, every night, and I go for cleanings and check-ups every 6 months.

Insurance covers the 2 cleanings / checkups every year. But if anything else is going on with my mouth, it gets expensive. A few years ago, I broke one of my front teeth, from biting my nails. I don’t remember how much it cost to fix it, but it was not cheap.

Not for a second set of dentures it isnt. Its still about 387 claiming income based ESA.

My quality of life got sucked up because of crooked teeth from birth. Now I have crown for bottom front teeth (4) and hoping to live my life further without any issues. I almost got no hope before.

I spent a lot on teeth treatment all by myself. No one helped me within my family. And moreover it was purposefully damaged when I was child by few people

@Charles_Foster , what state do you live in?
