Do you guys find it odd that schizophrenia affects 1% of the population yet there is such a small representation of us on this web site.

Yes I find it a little strange there aren’t more people here. One percent of a global population of circa 7 billion mean there are about 70 million schizophrenics in the world. Also people with other mental health conditions come here such as bipolar etc so yeah I’d expect more people on here.
There’s a mental health website local to my country, where there are probably millions of people with mental illness of various kinds, and yet the forum is barely active, maybe a few posts each day…it’s strange to me.
A large portion of those with sz are so low functioning they wouldn’t get much out of this website. Also, there’s another large chunk that are so high functioning that they don’t feel a need for a place like this.
Then there’s the language barrier.

Hey, I have enough trouble keeping you guys in mind without asking for thousands more!
This keeps us on a semi-personal level. And for an old timer like me, forums are not too out dated.

yeah I find it odd. Chat rooms and forums used to be so popular . Now when I search for them there aren’t as many. Where did everyone go to?. I go outside and they still
have their faces in their phones so they are somewhere. I noticed it in another forum I used to go to, very few people, same names over and over. odd indeed.
Most of the schizophrenics in this world are unmedicated and living on the street.
I meant i noticed it on another forum too @crimby. Remember when forums and chatrooms were much bigger. Sometimes 10,000’s replies. Quite different now. Yet I see People with there faces in their phones where are these 7 billion people on the planet?
