My cat had hairballs and inflamed bowels and didn’t eat fo five days. Now he is better and he demands lunch every day. When I have lunch he meows in the kitchen until I feed him. The other cat gets lunch too. He is at a normal weight. I will feed them lunch unless they gain too much weight. They used to get just breakfast and dinner.

Just divide their daily food amount into 3 equal portions. Then they’re still eating only what they are supposed to eat
That’s a good idea. They will get a little less for dinner.

In my home there are 2 rabbit, 1 parrot and 7 love birds. They are provided food and water for all time, when they want to eat.

Some cats and dogs overeat and get very unhealthy. It’s important to measure their food

Yes, in case of dogs and cats it is important to control. But for small animals you know it can’t be avoided for food.

No lunch for my dog
I feed my pets once a day. But I put out enough so they can eat as they feel. The cats prefer to eat more in the morning, then graze a bit the rest of the day.
My male dog eats a few bites here and there all day until his bowl is empty.
Our new girl, I don’t know her routine yet.
With.our previous female we had a large auto feeder. Pour the bag in and they just eat when they wish.
