Do you ever get the urge?

yea i had that urge in the past a lot. I did run away even abroad trying to escape everything. But i found out that didn’t really help me.

In AA they call that the “geographical cure”. You start thinking that if you could just move to a different place all your burdens would be gone. It never works, because you take your bad habits with you.

I used to run away from home between ages 13 and 16. Then at 16, I was emancipated. But I’m close to my mom now

back when I was suicidal I thought about travelling to Italy to get away…I soon realized I couldn’t do it…finally got on good meds and I am not suicidal now for almost twenty years…

I used to get this a lot. But thankfully as I’ve reached middle age my symptoms have quite calmed down a lot.

I used to be paranoid that people were going to hurt me all the time and I needed to move. But the reality is I live in a really nice city.

Sure we have our problems, but it’s nowhere near as bad as the ghetto I grew up in in Southern California.

The reality is if you have problems and run you end up just taking your problems with you.

The only exceptions to this are living in a warzone, or a particularly very violent and unsafe neighborhood.

Because a lot of people are annoying on a good day, and they don’t have enough good days.

Yeah I did that when I was going through second episode of psychosis. Was living with an alias and was homeless. Actually I’ve driven across US to work at a new high paying job, but was fired because I lived in the street…:no_mouth: I wish I never did it
