It was a Giving Day at my alma mater and I donated 50£ to a ‘care experienced’ scholarship fund. My donation was matched so it doubles my impact.

Even though I’m low income I feel like I can still help here and there a bit.

I have recurring donations I give to three charities that are deducted from my bank account each month. They’re just small donations but I often give more when they ask.
I have donated to quite a few charities over the years. However it really annoyed me, when I lived in Essex, being badgered in the high street or by phone. I’ll do so,as and when I want to. That being quite often.

I went to Tesco and I was leaving the shop and a woman came from trinity house wanting me to donate and I said will it take long and she said not at all she was very pushy so I said I’m in a rush and left
I donate time to my church when they have fundraisers. I also carry food bags in my car so that when I see people holding cardboard signs I give them those instead of money. I don’t have much money to give but I don’t want them to use it on alcohol or drugs, so I give something to eat. I also volunteer at my clubhouse.

When I made good money I used to donate money to a children orphanage in China. The Phillip Hayden Foundation.
I sent some clothes for some of the children. It cost me $50 to ship the clothes to Tianjin China. The orphanage sent me a pic of the girl I was sponsoring wearing a coat I’d sent. That was pretty neat.
I wish I was a better donnor when I had the chance.
