I’d have to say both too. I think its unlucky for anyone to have sz/a, but I’m lucky for many other things in my life

when i weigh it up it’s 50/50
I consider myself lucky because im on a low dose of antipsychotics and still doing good. Also i applied for disability and got it the first time so thats lucky
I am one of the luckiest unlucky people ever.
Seriously, I beat odds sometimes with effort but the biggest variables have been by chance, or how scientists call it, “entropy”. Scientists don’t often say “luck”. I am one.
But really, my strengths and weaknesses are mostly just due to chance. Mentally ill in like 5 different ways, all of them very serious, great body, smart, doctoral student, short, disturbed, sly,blessed, cursed, it’s a hodgepodge of weird ■■■■.
Like Asperger’s and then schizophrenia and then “gifted.” What the ■■■■?! I should be a “crazy retard”

I think I am the weirdest case of Asperger’s + schizophrenia that has come about. It’s really just a case of Asperger’s gone crazy. I was what they call a Happy Aspie before I became psychotic.
Now no one listens to me when I say that ASD people are more aggressive and less bothered, even more cool with violence, but I was a little killer when I became section 8, and everyone was cool with it because I was an intellectual and sanctioned little violent wanker.

I’m very lucky.
I have a supportive partner and family.
I have an affectionate and clever kitten.
I have a great team to work with at my job.
I have access and finances for good quality healthcare.
I live in a (rented) nice house in an area close to the city and public transport.
I have access and finances to fresh food.
AND I got three Simpsons DVD’s for $60 the other day when they usually cost $35 each!

People who are consistently lucky are actually people who prepare ahead. I’m photographing a large racing event today. Big, loud, couple thousand people. I have extra meds, lots of nicotine, and a quiet spot to hide in for five minutes when I get the shakes from being overwhelmed.
Preparation and determination and meds. The winning combo.

Both. More lucky than not. Lucky to be born into money. Unlucky to be born with SZ genes. Lucky to be free of punishment for misdeeds. Unlucky to be born with a bad conscience. Lucky to be born with a happy disposition.

Externally I am very lucky. I have wonderful parents and a blessed life. Internally I would say I’m fairly unlucky in that I have comorbid mental disorders. So I’m lucky and unlucky depending which area of my life you look at.
I think I believe “people make their own luck”. We are all dealt a misshaped hand some more than others. Perhaps how you react to it determines how “lucky” you are?
I consider myself very unlucky because i have sz. Some things that i feel lucky about is having a job and working it. Also i feel lucky because i haven’t died in an airplane crash.
Airplane crashes are very unlikely! You’d be extremely unlucky to be involved in an airplane crash!
