Do you believe in "normies" or do you think everyone is a little crazy

Before I was schizophrenic I was pretty normal. I really miss my old self.

After thinking on it, I don’t think I really believe in the concept of normies anymore. I think we all suffer from a rather debilitating condition, and that is being human, lol.

I agree with others. Everyone is battling some kind of struggle. We are all a little crazy in our own ways.

I think when you dig hard enough in someones psyche you always find a mental illness. I stopped explaining myself. Your friends understand you and the others won’t believe you.

I think everyone is crazy but with less suffer than people with sz. And i call that being normal

I think I’m not normal. I think that normal people do exist though, not saying they may not have issues but they’re still normal. Experiencing the psychosis I experienced was deeply traumatising and it affects me every single day of my life so far in a very abnormal way

I believe in normies but I don’t think they are normal if that makes sense. I think that normies have a high threshold for triggers to an unnatural degree that doesn’t reflect a solid grasp on reality.

What I mean by that is there are some people who are so defined by being normal and part of the herd that they don’t notice how so much is messed up, like they are oblivious to the absurdity in everything.

The opposite end of the spectrum has some people overly sensitive to everything due to a low threshold for triggers. The absurdity in everything screams to them and they can’t distract themselves from it. There are some with insight while others become engrossed by it.

It’s all on a spectrum, there are many shades of grey. That isn’t to say that I don’t believe in a more centralized norm that is between a ‘normie’ and one with pronounced mental illness. The in-between person is one who suffers from mild depression and anxiety, in my opinion.

Being more aware, as in having a more active mind, leaves one more prone to overthinking things which can cause anxiety and depression. The normies with less active minds don’t have as much consideration for new and novel things in my experience. The search for fulfillment in some people vs the complacency of others is a very interesting thing. Not trying to steer this in any way political but there is a reason for people being more conservative vs more dynamic. Conservative people think that change causes anxiety while those who are more dynamic believe they can get out of anxiety through change. It’s pretty funny if you think about it, people are just different.

Not to say anyone who is either conservative or dynamic isn’t able to think as well as the opposite group, I notice merit in both sides but feel it is important to keep what works and change what doesn’t work. Some people want to have things stay the same forever with no change and others aren’t happy until everything is changed. I think there is an argument for calling people who can’t adapt to change mentally ill and the same for people who can’t stay mentally still.

Then again I am just a guy who believes in optimization of things and I constantly look at things in this view.

So is there a normal? No, but there are a lot of people who find comfort in numbers, just because a lot of people think one way doesn’t mean the way they think is best.
