How common is it? How can you trace your genetic history back? Are there certain last names you know for sure were Vikings?
The vikings didn’t really have any last names that could be traced back to their time. They had the same system they have in Iceland, where your last name is “Son/daughter of x” like “Leifsdottir” or “sigurdsson”
Ind other words, their last names were based on who their parents were
