I booked and paid for flights to Kerela, India for 3 concecative years 2016//2017/2018 and backed out. losing my money My first proper holiday was to Lake Como, italy in 2019. My anxiety inproved from using this website. I’m not alone with this illness.
I don’t think you are bragging but you travel more than most people in your situation. We are middle class and don’t have the finances to travel more than once a year within the US let alone out of the country. I can’t believe how much you get as a single person on disability. It seems like a lot, but that’s just what I think. Perhaps you could use some of that money to give back to the community in some way, if you have that much money in excess.
There are lots of people here who barely manage to get enough food, let alone travel, so I can understand other peoples dislikes towards your posts. You are going to have to either be more understanding about that or not talk about your vacations as much if you don’t like other peoples feelings about it. I’m not going to judge the way you live though. You are lucky to have the life you do, and try not to forget that or take it for granted.
The travel sites generally don’t give good advice anyhow or I would have known not to go into a Waffle House. If you ever travel to the U.S. and find yourself in a neighbourhood were the businesses are mostly pawn shops or bail bond outfits, leave and get somewhere safer immediately.
Also, Florida. Avoid.
And Texas.
There you go - all you need to know about the U.S.
Same. We haven’t even traveled the last year or three because we wind up having to move again and again. It’s expensive.
IMO if you’re able enough to do those things then you shouldn’t be getting the level of disability benefits that allows you to do so. The truth is the average person with a SMI , due to the effect of their illness and the low income they have to live on,can’t do what you do. There’s a degree of insensitivity involved in your making such posts when more than a few here,on disability benefits, struggle to keep their heads above water financially.
I think people are missing this. Many other schizophrenics are one-trick ponies too.
How are people finding out that I have been turning tricks?
I don’t think I’ve ever been in financial shape to wisely afford international travel, even when I worked for an airline. I could travel for free domestically when I worked for an airline, but international travel is expensive, and I could never justify it as a reasonable expense.
If I ever have a couple of decades of living expenses saved up, maybe then traveling internationally might be reasonable.
I talked to five disappointed customers?
I think you need to bear in mind that being able to save £900 a month on benefits kinda kicks people in the teeth when they struggle to even breakeven each month where ever they live
When I start working I calculate I can save about £400 at best
I’m not a critic. I’m a believer you take what you can get from the government health system anyway you can. It’s just survival but you do the holidays. You could do health or hobby things I’d imagine to the same level. Honestly I don’t think your doing anything wrong your just maximising your benefits.
Most people cant save 900 a month working full time.
Your mother seemed very pleased at the time.

I hate this ■■■■■■■ thread. Not making any demands.
We all have our own opinions.
Just do not sell the little people short.
I do not wish to be treated as an inferior.
We all want to be treated well. It is a basic human need.
JC!
Have some courtesy.

I personally think that it is fantastic that you have extra money and can spend it to go travel to great places. I support you in your right to start a thread about it even if other people think you are bragging. So what. Brag. Someone has some good news. I think it’s great. I can be genuinely happy for someone else even if I’m not happy myself, even if I was jealous, which I’m not in the least. I think it’s shitty that you aren’t getting more people happy for you. It’s like really disappointing that people are letting their jealousy run rampant and not being supportive to a fellow forum mate.
I think it is wonderful that people can enjoy holidays. Holidays are beautiful and help to relieve stress. But it does not make sense to me that some people who have full time jobs may not be able to afford even one holiday per year whereas you are enjoying several on a year to year basis as someone who is not required to work due to disability.
Excuse me if I’m being ignorant; this is what I’m seeing from an outsider point of view.
Just post some great pictures of your travels. That way we can live vicariously.
I honestly prefer travelling within Europe as it is cheaper and I hate long haul flights.
Enjoy it as long as it lasts.
I have a friend who everytime I message her she’s away on holiday. And she’s constantly on about going away. It’s nice to be able to get away but too much time away makes the holidays feel less special to me.
