Do any of you talk to yourselves?

Does cursing under my breath at other drivers on the freeway count?

Only when driving. I use a technique called narrative driving to talk to myself about what is happening around me to increase situational awareness. A lot of professional drivers are trained to do this. Otherwise, no.

It is a reported symptom in the literature. I do it occasionally and it’s like my version of a voice. I always spurt out negatives about myself. I know when I get into a certain thought set that I do it and I try to avoid it if out and do ok. It’s usually when I’m home and ruminating on things.

As always. If it’s affecting function talk to your doc.

Yes, and medication never made it go away. But for some reason I only do it when nobody else is around. Otherwise if i did it around people they might know that I’m schizo.

I used to talk to myself all the time before I was diagnosed
but now with thought broadcast, that just seems crazy

Yes, I do speak to myself. All the time.

All the time. My kids always talk to me for me to focus on external senses instead of focusing on the voices.
