Are any of you on twitter? I’m looking for people to follow who have schizophrenia. I’m on there but i don’t tweet about sz much, just random stuff.
I have one, but I don’t really use it. We aren’t allowed to share other social media links and/or information about ourselves on other social media on the public board, however.
I can leave this thread open for the sake of people saying whether or not they have a twitter account, but we are not allowed to share those specifics, so if people start sharing account information, I will have to close.
I had one, but left after someone began stalking the account. Two friends of an ex friend just made life miserable there.
Ah right, fair enough. Alternatively then, i’d like to hear about people’s experiences in managing their social media accounts and wether they are able to cope or not. I’d previously been unable to use social media, but now with a change in medication, i no longer see everyone as a mass united worldwide organisation conspiring against me. I can now see that the internet is populated with many unconnected individuals with their own lives and personalities. It’s only been that way a few days though. I hope it lasts.
I opened one over a decade ago, but don’t use it. I didn’t want to post twice, once on Facebook and once on Twitter.
I quit Twitter because Elon Musk. I’m on Mastodon now.
Yeah, it’s really not safe to share that sort of information with strangers online
I dont think its wrong sharing your info online in any website. As long you make your account private or the way you want it. I mean yea they be surprised that they spotted a schizophrenic but it doesnt anything else or something will happen. What does it mean its bad to “share”? I dont see. I mean personal i fo like your address and cellphone but the other thing…
I honestly have never even thought of the option.
Why do I need it? Is it like Tik Tok where it’s random people dancing?
I use facebook because it keeps me with people from cricket and America…I love messenger and have a friend chat of debauchery that has lasted probably ten years now…
But I’ve heard of this thing and still I don’t need it. What does it do?
This site and a site i talk about coffee and shaving are the only social media type of things I’m on.
I’ve given up on Mastodon for the foreseeable future. Twitter’s far from perfect. Elon Musk is a jerk. That’s all true. However I have those I follow and who follow me. I don’t want to lose them. If and when I can easily follow on Mastodon(no fiddle faddle) those I follow on Twitter, only then will Mastodon be a viable option for me. There’s no way I can just start from scratch at Mastodon.
I can’t morally justify enriching this individual in any fashion. This consideration outweighs all others.
Looks like I’ve been kicked off Mastodon. I have no idea why. Password was rejected so I tried to create a new one. Never received the email with the link that would allow me to do. Tried over a dozen times.
I’m happy you are equally stubborn. I suspected as much. I got off all social media because my ex was a little creepy years and years ago. I considered going back, just on twitter. But I cannot, unless Elon Musk leaves. I will not support him.
I have found Mastodon to be much more civil - here’s hoping it lasts. I’m mostly okay with it - the way links are displayed is annoying for sure. I’m also playing around a bit with Vero.
I had a Twitter account but it was deleted because I never used it. I only really know about Facebook and YouTube, I know nothing about Instagram or Twitter or tic toc.
I’ll look into it. I’m not much into social media anyway. There’s some interesting people I would like to follow on twitter. But nah. My conscience doesn’t allow it.
I’m mostly into networking with:
- photographers
- amateur broadcasters
- foodies
- freecyclers
- hifi enthusiasts
- other AA members
I’m doing my best to avoid politics. Don’t need that crap in my life.
I know someone who made an account at Mastodon. Trolls piled on to say she was connected with paedophiles. Mastodon took it at face value, and she was unable to access her account.
As for me- I need a technically simple but good alternative to Twitter. One that requires minimum fiddle faddle. One that allows me to connect easily with as many of those that I currently follow on Twitter, and that follow me
. I can’t start from scratch.
None of it matters anyway now. I’m stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea even if Mastodon eventually provides that link to create a new password.
Twitter- has been worsened by Musk, but I have followers and those I follow that I don’t want to lose. I can fully understand why people are abandoning Twitter.
Mastodon-I don’t cope well with change. Any switch to something new has to involve minimal fiddle faddle, and a non steep learning curve. I felt very disconnected on Mastodon, with very few responses. It’s irrelevant anyway, as I’m not wanted. I’ve been rejected too many times to count. It doesn’t get any easier each time it happens.
I don’t see any of this, but I don’t get involved in anything political. That probably helps.
