Do antipsychotics help with negative symptoms?

Once your positive symptoms start to go away, do you feel your negative symptoms lighten as well? Because your positive symptoms can be so exhausting to deal with that your whole mental state improves once they go away?

Antipsychotics don’t really help with negative symptoms in general.

It’s possible that the following three antipsychotics might help a bit though.

  1. Abilify
  2. Rexulti
  3. Vraylar

I think Caplyta is also a partial dopamine agonist.

Saphris helped a lot with both positives and negatives.
But honestly, I attribute some of it to upping my caffeine intake and setting a daily routine I’m forced to adhere to.

Also:

  • sulpiride
  • amisulpride (Solian)
  • flupenthixol (Fluanxol)
  • lurasidone (Latuda)
  • asenapine (Saphris, Sycrest)

Low doses are generally advised. And there are probably more antipsychotics that can help. Response to almost any drug is highly individual.

generally I feel OTC supplements help me.

I started upping them due to pandemic.

Especially the one I take with magnesium in it.
plus I swear by blueberries in my smoothies.

What i find helped with the negatives, is take a decent dose of multi vits, and eat protein rich meat like chicken - that can boost your dopamine levels and your reward centre.
