I really dislike being mentally illed,it is a serious disadvantage in life, how I wish that I can get away with it or recover from it someday.Anyway,I will be very sad if my GF leaves me oneday,I will talk to my parent and family to see if I should be honest with her about my depression which I have had since 2014.I dont know if I should tell her, because it’s likely she might leave me and I will be sad,2nd thing is I hope I can recover from my depression and don’t need medication anymore,I am willing to be patient and sacrifice my time to do whatever it takes to be free from mental health issue or diagnosis, can you guys give advice on what I said?
I think you should tell her, but at the same time, make sure she knows you’re working on it.
I don’t think she’ll leave you just because you have a depression, she might even appreciate the honesty. It could make your relationship stronger.
The only time I’ve left a partner for having a mental illness was when he refused to get help or work on it, and insisted on me being the only one who could help him, while at the same time pushing me away every time I tried.
As long as you don’t make her feel like it’s her responsibility and she’s your saviour, you’ll be fine.
I sure would be disappointed if a partner kept something like a mental illness from me.
Are u sure u can go off medication … what type of positive symptoms do u have …!!! My man @Gtx1990…!!!
I could tell her, people in RL advice that I do not first…
If you can explain yourself you should be alright opening up to your GF. I made the mistake of telling people I was Bi-Polar when I was younger and not explaining it. It just left people confused.
It’s pretty hard to hid mental illness from someone who’s close to you. She probably already knows something is wrong but just is wondering what it is. Maybe telling her about it will make her feel better. Maybe it will make you closer. I hope she doesn’t feel like you’re holding something back, that could cause problems in the relationship. I know you dislike mi but that won’t make it go away. I think honesty is the best policy in your situation. Good luck honey.
