Direct payment help starts on Monday

Going through " Do I really need it ?" thoughts . I think it has been triggered by the woman yesterday indirectly suggesting it’s only really meant for the physically disabled. Plus the fact the flat looks quite clean so I’m wondering what she’ll have to do. Then again the flat is clean and I’m not in dirty clothes because my stepdaughter has been on top of everything. When I lived in Essex with family not near and left to my own devices neither of the above was true. The thing about getting help is it would allow my stepdaughter to have more quality time with me.

Then there is the whole issue of not feeling guilty. Feeling as though maybe you should just man up and pull yourself together. Self stigma is a nasty thing

Sounds like a good enough reason to get it then.

What sorts of things will they help you do? Do they do it for you or just hello you do things?

I used to have a person that came over and helped me clean and tidy. Do laundry. Get groceries. That sort of thing. But then I lost my state insurance and didn’t qualify anymore. It was a huge help and kept me more on top of cleaning.

More quality time with your stepdaughter will be totally worth it. Don’t let what one person said get to you too much. If you need the help, you need the help.
