Did you suffer from memory loss after your psychotic episode? Or is it the meds causing this?
I forgot everything that I learned in school.

I have the same issue. Not sure yet if it’s meds, sz, or both.
After my first ward fun I couldn’t remember much.
Working memory got worse but long term memory was unaffected. If you don’t review or use what you studied, you will forget it but it will be easier and faster to relearn.
I had problems with memory following a major psychotic episode. I got into herbs, was taking schizandra and lions mane mushroom (how I found this forum) and I recommend exercising and keeping your mind active. It can get better. My doctors never mentioned it, but I did a lot of research on it. I don’t feel I learn as easily as I once did, but I am still smart but in a quieter way. It’s taken a year for me to notice things are better.
I have always had poor memory ever since my first psychotic episode. All of my cognitive functioning is much worse ever since SzA
My memory was bad, because of psychosis, before I even started meds. It wasn’t horrible, though.
After my psychotic break in 2019, my memory got worse. The meds, such as Seroquel, make my memory extra worse. So, now my memory really sucks.
My memory got worse after sza. It got much worse after 33 years of psychosis.
Sz can cause memory and attention issues but I also believe that dopamine blockage can cause concentration issues as well, which would make it harder to remember things that you are trying to learn. So it may be that it is both sz and meds.
I forget tons of stuff I’d studying for A levels, during my 1st psych admission .I did have several sessions of ECT though.
