I didn’t read but a few books as a boy and I regret it. I had a good imagination and little to no intellect. As a middle aged man I have grown to despise the imagination. Maybe had I read early on I could have used it for world building in novels. I can’t help thinking it’s too late for me .
I have to disagree with you.
Reading books is never too late.
Please be more positive about yourself…
Books are literally for everyone. And no right time to start reading.
as though I also regret some things about reading.
When I was a child a read way more, but now… somehow I cannot force myself to read. I do it very rarely now
I read a lot as a kid, it helped in school. People may forget but in elementary school, spelling and reading were two of the subjects. I was usually ahead of everybody else in those two subjects; when I was in fourth grade they put me in with the 5th graders for reading. That was all kid stuff though, I don’t know if it’s helping me now as an adult but I was a good writer in college. Reading probably helped me when I skipped 8th grade.
I loved reading as a kid. It let me escape a miserable childhood.
I read a lot as a kid. I was particularly into Harry Potter.
I read a lot of comic books, my favorite was Spiderman
Age 10 I liked the beano and wizzer and chips and short stories then I was into Enid blyton then Virginia Andrews
I have done lots of reading but these last few months I’ve not been reading I’ve got a small section of a book I have yet to finish im not in the right form of mind
Yes. I read a lot as a kid.
Once I learned to read (I was a late bloomer in this area) once that happened I almost always had my nose in a book
Yes I read a lot up until I finished university.
I read constantly as a kid.
I read a lot as a child
What did you like reading?
I read an awful lot when I was a kid. I seem to remember losing interest in reading at about 26 though.
Now I can only listen to audiobooks, as I can’t do walls of text.
Fantasy. Some science fiction but mostly fantasy. I read a crapload of Piers Anthony
Walls of text here scare me I run away and don’t read them lol
Love the feeling of getting into a good read. Makes me feel like a kid again.
I collected Swamp Thing and horror comic books and read a lot of ray bradbury.
I read two books over and over in elementary school - “White Falcon” and “Saber Jet Ace”. When I got to seventh grade my reading branched out. I saw on the internet that some dufus was saying that George Orwell’s book “1984” was too intense for kids. I guess it is okay for them to see movies like “Friday 13th”. We don’t need some nanny state looking over our shoulders telling us what we can read.
I couldn’t read properly until I was 15. Then I started reading goosebumps books from the prison liberty and with proper tuition from the prison school learned how to read.
