I remember that my favourite books were the very hungry caterpillar and the rainbow fish.
I also liked ‘one wooly wombat’
We had a lot of used books in our house. I liked mostly nonfiction or cartoon paperbacks like Peanuts books. I liked astronomy a lot and reading about the solar system. We had a couple different sets of encyclopedias that were fun to browse through. In first grade I read a lot of Clifford the Red Dog books. I was ahead a grade in reading in Third grade so I would go to the 4th grade class for English. The only bad thing was that I had to get glasses at age 8.
I read a lot during childhood. Especially comic books. But I stopped reading when puberty hit. I picked up reading again in my early 20’s but stopped again. Haven’t been an avid reader since.
I enjoyed reading the mossflower trilogy as a kid. but i didn’t read like i do now. reading is great.
it started with my dad’s books when i was 16. got them from the attic, kurt vonnegut and kafka and what not. confederacy of dunces.
I liked reading doctor who books i got from the library as a child. I probably read over 100 of them, they were good better than the tv version imo.
@Jinx , it’s not too late! Just go to websites that recommend books and read their descriptions to see what interests you. If you find it’s hard to read, listen to audiobooks.
Here’s a site with book descriptions. They want you to create an account but I trust the site.
Goosebumps was the best.
Bruce covillle was good as well
“Jeremy thatcher dragon hatcher”
I was a voracious reader as a kid and still kinda am.
I loved Goosebumps and other scary stories for kids.
I used to like animorphs books
Do you think reading is the same as an adult than as a child?
i used to read alot. now i read comics from time to time. never been a fan of nonfiction but the comic publisher image comics has some amazing stories and art directed at more mature people
Yes, my favorite book was the Secret Garden. I couldn’t remember it, and was listening to an audiobook, then watched a movie of it. My mom’s cousin, who was closer to my age, taught me to read before I started school.
Well, your interests will be very different and so will your attention span. Many people who didn’t like reading as a child find they like reading as an adult
I read a lot and also wrote a lot. I wanted to be a writer.
I read ALL THE TIME when I was young. Someone said they used books to escape a shitty childhood. I relate to that.
