I took choir all through middle school and high school. I was an alto. Which means I sang the lower female parts in the music. I also my sophomore year in high school I joined the speech and debate team. I did original oratory, original performance and humorous interp. I got far in original oratory I was the fourth best in the state my senior year I almost went to nationals. I got told time and time again by the other schools coaches I had a lot of passion. One year my speeches was about bullying.
Very impressive.
I was a Brownie and sang with the folk group at church.
Was raised by a mum on welfare – couldn’t afford to purchase me an instrument or rent one (that would have hurt her booze and cigs budget). No band for me or band clubs. I was pretty solitary until I started using/abusing.
Pixel.
thats really cool, i’d like to join a choir, i think it would be cool to work on my voice,
do you still sing? i love singing
in school i was naughty, and our school was not good so we had no clubs or music classes.
eventually i focused more on stealing than on school but i gave that up before i was 16,
My parents put me in for boxing at prep school. I wasn’t very keen or good at it. Ditto piano lessons which I was useless at. Since learnt although not diagnosed I’m probably dyspraxic which may explain the difficulty I had.
Didn’t join any any clubs at public school and gave up piano lessons when I got there.
Was in the choir during my last 18 months at prep school though I had an average voice.
I did debate and interpretive reading. Having done debate on both sides of every issue we were given, I find it difficult to read posts by users who can only see one side of an issue – even if I think they’re right.
I was in theater club in school.
I was forced to take piano lessons at age 6 but then I liked it until age 16. Began oboe and clarinet in school and private oboe lessons too. Got to be too much between school, track, piano and oboe so I stopped taking piano lessons because I enjoyed the oboe more at the time. Looking back I wish I kept it up. I can still play and sight read pretty good. Maybe if this depression lifts some more I can start to play again.
