Diazepam for sleep?

Benzos reduce anxiety, but can diazepam make me sleepy?

I used to take lorazepam for sleep sometimes.

Just took 10mg diazepam. It’s 3:34am

I want to fall asleep on time.

Put relaxing music and avoid caffeine after 3pm.

I was on xanax for years and it would help me sleep. Trouble was it was addictive and on a pretty small dose I stopped it and had a gran mal. They are addictive and there’s probably better options out there… Talk to your psydoc.

I found benzo’s helped me get to sleep but I always slept well on zyprexa.

I think they used to be firstline for sleep. But now zolpidem and zopiclone are supposedly less addictive

I’ve had zopiclone at hospital before. I woke up at 9pm. I’m screwed. Gonna skip sleep and hopefully fall asleep at a normal time tomorrow.

When I was in hospital the last few times they gave me diazepam three times a day to stop me harming myself and it sedated me a lot. I slept a lot and had droopy eyes all day.

I use it in case of need only. I take a little extra amisulpride if I need to (if I’m agitated at night and can’t sleep) and if that doesn’t help enough then I resort to diazepam which does work after an hour or so.

I only tried zopiclone once, i have little memory of it but i somehow took all 30 of the pills they gave me.
My eyes felt messed up for a week.
