Hello! I was first diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder but changed doctor and this second one said he does not believe I have schizophrenia. He said according to the DSM I would have either schizophrenia or schizoaffective but that mental health is more than fulfilling symptoms.
What do you think about this? I am so confused.
I am on my antipsychotics and only have psychosis if not medicated. Been on antipsychotics for several years.

I hear ya when it comes to the confusion of diagnosing mental illnesses. Sometimes psychiatrists have a different in opinions. Have been diagnosed with different things plenty of times.

Thank you! It is like I explained: the doctor said according to the DSM I would have either schizophrenia or schizoaffective but mental health is more than that. He did not give me any diagnosis and said he does not believe I have schizophrenia. Confusing, right?
