Hi there I have been recently diagnosed with diabetes. I think that it’s the antipsychotics that is making me have this new disease. I’m thinking about stopping my meds so I’ll be able to lower my sugar.

Your doctor may prescribe Metformin for diabetes. I’m on it and it has no side effects (for me anyway).

It’s difficult as crap to do but diet, and exercise can help.
I was diagnosed with diabetes too when I was taking Zyprexa. Zyprexa can elevate your blood sugar. Now that I’m on Abilify, my blood sugar has really gone down. My A1C was 6.7 when I was diagnosed. Now it’s 5.7. I kinda don’t believe the diabetes diagnoses as I think it was the Zyprexa elevating my blood sugar.

i have diabetes but now its controlled with medication, exercise and diet. Some medication make you gain weight causing you blood sugar to rise that was case for me, i lost weight my sugar went back to normal thanks god, alot hard work though, from the 200’s to 80’s
