Depression or just boredom

Mr Turtle is working late today. I had been really looking forward to today off, usually I would be at work but I have some training on Friday so I swapped a day.

I had an ok morning before the sun came up, but since about 9.00am I’ve been really listless. I don’t want to do anything. I had a nap at about 10.30 to 12.30 and talked to my mum on the phone, we speak daily. But I really miss her lots today, she lives interstate.

It’s days like this that I am reminded how important work is to me.

What are you up to today?

Whenever I have a break in my routine, it’s tough on me, too. I think I will enjoy my day off, but really, I just feel uncomfortable. Spring break is coming up next week, and I am not looking forward to it very much.

Yea, you get it. It’s the break in routine. I don’t like it. Normally Mr Turtle would be home by now but I don’t get to see him for another couple of hours and I’m pining for him and work at the same time.

I actually have training on all week this week, different stuff. It’s kind of come at an inopportune time because work is really busy at the moment.

Depression or boredom ???

If you have Internet, and can enjoy Internet then you know what boredom is

and if you have difficulty in using Internet then you know what Depression is,

I’m up at 4:30 am. Couldn’t sleep so I’m sipping a diet Pepsi and perusing the forums. I understand how the break in the routine throws you off. I’m the same way. It’s like “ok what now?”. Hope you get back on track soon, @anon84763962. Best wishes.

I can’t handle weekends well, let alone days off. Won’t have another one of those until mid-April though. Ode to productivity.

I would like to give you helpful advice.
It would be good for you to find more stuff to do.
It is true that when you don’t work, you don’t do what you are used to.
But there are lots of things to do.
Reading, solving crosswords, playing games, excercising, hanging out with friends.
There are a lot of things to do, it is not good in most cases to do nothing.
My advice would be to try and do something, even when you feel listless.
