Depression after watching the news

I haven’t watched the news (it seems for years) in awhile and i am badly depressed. So i got to watch till i am numb again or what ? I can’t change the happenings anyway. I don’t have money to donate or brains to make a difference. Its out of my control and its affecting me so deep i get depression. I don’t know, the news are real, maybe its my sz perspective.

What do you feel watching the news ?

I do not watch much the news. The news can be depressing.

I can’t take too much news. A lot of disturbing stories, and often they show very dark videos of dead and injured people and whatnot. I only watch it once in a while so I don’t fall completely out of the loop.

I do get some news from my radio though, that’s much better as there are no disturbing images.

I used to watch the news religiously. It helps me keep things in perspective, like how bad it is for some people, and how I should be grateful for what I have. When I watch the news I feel like I am part of a world community. I haven’t been watching the news lately, but I will get back into it.

Yes, i should be grateful for what i haven’t and have got.

I just check the news max once a day. Limiting the times you check is key. Else it’s too much.

Yes, i wait till i feel better. I listen to the news on the radio. I heard something strange from the word of mouth, but i start to feel better already. I could make some enquiries on the internet.

let’s see in the news this week, talk of masks being theatre, biden calling putin a killer, covid not going anywhere, 13% of the country vaccinated, hate against asian americans, gov. of new york in trouble, talk of the migrants at the southern border, i watch news most nights, it doesn’t usually trigger me, but i can see why a lot of us would want to avoid it.

I don’t watch news but I still want to be generally informed. So, I get my news second-hand from someone who follows it and can carefully curate it for me. I did that during our last election and I’m so glad I did: I got one update per day and then went about my business.

Too much is too much. Can you do something like I’ve done? Have anyone in your life who can do this for/with you? I’d bet there are services online or apps that may be able to do something similar as well.

Yeah that’s all they talk about all day. Luckily I can watch something else like a movie or a decent tv show. It’s depressing enough here in my room.
