I read the paper in the park one day last year.
I read 2 online newspapers every day. 1 is a normal one and the other is a financial one.
I watch news in the mornings
I like to watch the news when I can but my dad doesn’t want me to and he’s working from home this semester so I usually can’t watch the news.
I started back reading the papers. I dont watch TV though.
I don’t do media at all. War, crime, strife, politics, all the things I don’t need to think about. No thank you.
Nooooo. No way. Too triggering.
Absolutely not, it messes me up every time. If something important happens I learn from my friends/family if I can help it. I turn off everything relating to the news so I can only learn either by accidentally finding out myself or through friends/family. Its really good for me mentally.
No!
Years ago I felt the news presenters were attacking me through the screen and even hitting me through the screen.
I stopped watching then years later started watching again then felt hostile vibes from news presenters so stopped watching again.
I don’t need to be treated that way.
I don’t need to be dominated by power crazed news presenters.
Not ok.
If something incredibly important happens Facebook of schizophrenia.com will tell me or maybe a family member.
I avoid the news to avoid winding up my stress level. Higher stress equals more symptoms. I actually had to tell my wife to shut it last night because she wanted to talk about the mass stabby whatever with me. She likes to talk about the news - needs to phone a friend for that. I can’t do it for health reasons.
I do, and then I get super triggered if something comes up about my illness.
both. i read and watch it. ny times. cnn. cbs npr. and i hate politicians its wierd.
I have it on daily, but only pay attention 20% of the time, if that.
Yes, I follow the news a lot
I read a weekly publication called The Economist for expert analysis on politics, finance, economics, business etc…
I also watch Bloomberg daily for business/finance/markets news
I also read articles on The Guardian website - a popular UK based newspaper
i sometimes read the economist too. it’s a good publication. haven’t in some time.
I don’t watch or read the news. Haven’t for a few years. It stresses me out too much and is bad for my mental health. My husband tells me about important things in the news, which is much better for me than reading/watching it myself.
I need to stop watching people moan about politics on YouTube
But at the same time we have a duty to be informed imo
Still as a guy with sz I have not much to gain as I am not able to participate anyway with it all
The news are real and serve me as a window into reality. Its not all bad news, they are good news as well here on our newschannel.
it is indeed a window to reality. i find radio is a good one too. npr, community radio, college stations. gotta stay in touch with the outside world.
