I’m in the process of getting back to my old dose of 1000mg daily.
I’m current on an extremely low starting dose of 250mg and noticed side effects of some anxiety and paranoia.
Yeah I’ve been feeling a bit paranoid now that I’m back on the Depakote.
Don’t know if I should contact my doctor or just give it some more time until I adjust to the meds again?
Are you on 3 or 4mg risperdal?
Did you have paranoia when you were on depakote before?
I’m on my usual dose of 4mg of risperdal but yes I noticed that I’m more paranoid on Depakote, I thought that the paranoia was part of my mental illness but now I’m suspecting that it could be from the Depakote.
I’ll give it some more time but if it continues I’m contacting my psychiatrist.

Well you got to weight benefits vs side effects to decide if going on depakote is necessary.
Depakote keeps my moods in check but who wants paranoia as a side effect?

Geez @Wave , you seem to be having problem after problem lately.
I’d get stable on depakote , put up with a bit of paranoia and then discuss options with your psychiatrist once you’re stable again.
For me suicidal thoughts are worse than paranoia generally as I am likely to kill myself whereas paranoia is fear.
Yeah it’s some suspiciousness.
I’m on a low dose now, I really don’t want to increase it only to have to switch to a different med anyway.
I’m feeling more stable now.
I think I might call my psychiatrist and have me switch to a different med right away.

Worse case you can increase your risperdal if you cant deal with paranoia and at the same time dont get suicidal thoughts.
What about Tegretol?
Yeah Tegretol comes with it’s own set of problems but I may consider it.
I’m not increasing the Risperdal.
My heart could start racing again.
I’m currently on 750mg a day of depakote and and 20 mg abilify it took me a while to stop feeling so paranoid. I take 150 mg hydroxyzine for anxiety though. Hope you feel better though… Definitely I’d tell your doctor what your feeling…

yea i think maybe you can wait a bit and see if it gets better. If it keeps getting worse then contact your pdoc though…
