Defeating schizophrenia

I want to defeat schizophrenia

and

I surely will.

I am fighting it for the last 30 years and I will continue to fight.

I think within a short time I will beat it.

My only hope is future better meds for negative symptoms.

I think maybe it will be easier on yourself if your goal is to better your situation. Like try to achieve better cognitive function, maybe be able to get by with less drugs which in turn gives less side effects…etcetera.

I have worked myself in a very positive direction. Although I still have problems, my issues with mental illness and side effects from drugs have decreased the last years, and my quality of life is better.

Yes you can defeat it, dont let it over come you, I battle with it everyday. I believe in god, so god shed light in my dark times. Just have some faith.

Good for you but be aware that schizophrenia usually doesn’t just disappear. You may be fighting symptoms for the rest of your life and/or you may have to live with what thirty years has done to you and your life.

I hate to be cynical and discourage anyone but I have been on these forums for more than ten years and have never seen a full recovery that would satisfy the definition of a complete remission.
I’ve seen plenty of people claim a full recovery but almost a 100% of them in the next breath will say they still need medication or they list symptoms they still have. Or I have seen a lot of relapses from supposedly cured schizophrenics.

I think “beating” schizophrenia depends on a lot on how you define “beating” or how you define a full recovery. I wish people would recover and beat schizophrenia. More power to anybody who wins a lot of life’s battles.
But a full, lasting victory? Very rare in my experience. I’m not saying to give up, you can still live a fulfilling life and we some of the time.

I think that we ought to live with Sz and I hope that with medications the symptoms will disappear or decrease.

Positivity is key. Send out positive vibes and they may come back to charm you.

That or some new medication without side effects

But in all history of the human race, no one really has ever beaten this disease
