I do understand that, but somewhere in my mind, I feel like I’m rotting away staying in my room beside the time I’m out working making 9 dollars per hour. Maybe I have a chance in having a better life… even after having psychosis…
You’ve probably gotten used to it, so you don’t see it. America is loud, no real safety nets for the poor, sick poor people have no real choices for medical care. You take whatever clinic is available.
If you can’t find a job and don’t have a place to live lined up you’ll be forced to live in a homeless shelter. What about your belongings?
I kind of agree with @anon4362788 and I love my country dearly but we have a lot of problems.
America is a little behind the times in the treatment of schizophrenia.
Some big cities like New York have more safety nets and support like art centers for schizophrenics and things like that. But that stuff wasn’t won overnight. It took a lot of advocacy and activism.
I think Japan is very advanced in how they treat and view schizophrenia, and even though you’re technically American you would probably be more accepted in Japan.
These are just my thoughts on the matter. At the end of the day you’re a grown man with freedom to make these decisions.
Hmm I liked living in Miami the best… that’s where I was at before psychosis happening. Don’t think I can handle NYC’s fast pace, although there are a lot of opportunities there. I have some close friends in Boston and Miami.
