Trying to move back to the US

Sorry this topic is sorta personal
This is the biggest stress in my life is right now

I’m a dual citizen. I’m japanese American I have both passports to both countries

I’m trying to move back to the US on my own because I am no longer in contact with my father who already lives there due to divorce.

Im 24 years old and trying to find work in Los Angeles. I’ve applied for jobs or tried to find schools of my interest to go to for a degree to help my career
But I am worried about money and I don’t know if I’ll be able to support myself for the first year that I’m there without family or friends. I’m worried my workplace won’t help me out.

It’s been difficult trying to find help because there are not a lot of resources for dual citizens trying to make their way back.
I don’t know anything about taking a loan out in the states and I am scared to take out a loan in Japan to try to move out.

I’m kinda stuck so if you guys have had experience moving back or to other countries pls let me know.

I’m kinda asking for the moral support mostly :joy:

You can apply for disability money if you have sz in the US. Do you have money for the airplane ticket to the US?

Yea I can afford the ticket probably
But I’m gonna pay for it though credit card that I have issued in Japan. I actually haven’t looked up what exactly will happen with things I still have to pay for here if I go back to the US.

OK. I got my diagnosis here and have been off meds and not gone to the clinic for the past 2 years.

If I had a mental illness with documentation that I can prove from here is that okay? This is not going to affect getting a job right. I don’t wanna ask that because it shouldn’t matter
But it’s my first time so pls forgive me lol

In the US If you are applying for a job, an employer cannot ask you if you are disabled or ask about the nature or severity of your disability. if you tell them that you do have a disability they can’t fire/discriminate you for having a disability. If you ever find out they are/did you can sue them.

Hi!
I just wanted to tell you that I’m a certain kind of a fan of Japanese people. I live in Finland.
I actually am a fan of internationality too. It doesn’t matter for me that what was your birth country or where you live. Your roots are Japanese but I think we are all brothers and sisters here on the Tellus. It’s our duty to aim to come along together. And like I said, I’m living in Finland but I was born in Estonia so I know what it is to move in to another country. I hope you succeed in the USA (if you decide to move there back). By the way, your nick “nobelprizewinner” - are you a thinker kind of guy? Cool beans, I am too… Lots of luck to you and your journey, feel free to get some moral help here in the future as well.
