I have tried so many times to stop smoking that I have learned a lot of how to stay quit? This time I am using reading as a tool to stop cravings. I haven’t been able to read for a very long time…decades have gone by. Not only am I reading but I’m reading two different books at the same time so as not to lose interest. It’s working. I am on day 3 of stopping smoking. My other real trick is that I cut down on coffee and tea as they really make me want a cigarette. I used to go to a non smoking site for support but I feel like the more I post online in that forum the more I want a cigarette, so I am doing it all on my own this time.
You’re going strong! Reading is a great distraction.
Yes !! by now lighting up a cigarette would mean having to “get used” to the toxins in the smoke making me cough if I tried to smoke. I have much more energy and I am really, really happy that I am reading again! gonna’ do it this time for sure !
Distractions are definitely helpful. Other folks recommend drinking water, also.

Just don’t smoke juke::. Just don’t do it… Forget cigarettes exist… Put them out of your mind.
If the brain fog sets in… Then have a nap… If you don’t feel like getting up then just lay there until you find that you have to do something…
Just uh… Don’t do it man… Don’t smoke…
Right on @Azley today is day four and I am feeling strong about not smoking !! I didn’t even have that much of a craving when I got up this morning. I do lay in bed when I start having cravings, but most of the time I’m reading or playing guitar !!
good deal juke… keep it up
