Cure with vitamins

It’s possible cure schizophrenia with vitamins and other minerals without drugs and antipsychotics?

There is no cure for schizophrenia. It is not possible to treat the symptoms with vitamines also. People who decide to live without anti psychotics have to deal with the positive symptoms of the illness. There are supplements that can help with the negative symptoms

No, vitamins don’t cure schizophrenia. Otherwise we’d all be on vitamins, and people in the past would have been on vitamins instead of being locked up in asylums.

Still, I came off meds for 2 years and tried vitamin therapy and just ended up back in hospital psychotic at the end.

Nobody explained to me that psychosis would return. No doctor etc.

i might have had a vitamin defiency, i will keep you guys posted
it definatelly works better then seroxat at this moment, but il’l keep you posted : )

You can become stable. I hope to put SZ into remission, but then again I don’t know what is even possible with this disorder. If I have to live with it for the rest of my life, so be it - it can sometimes be beautiful to/for me.

Can I ask what type of symptoms returned? And did you notice it before it was too late? U can pm if you want. I’m just curious for my own sake.

The lot. I went completely psychotic. I lost control of my thoughts.

Edit: I noticed it before it was too late and checked myself into hospital. But it was just in time.

Considering the number of people suffering with schizophrenia, the typical response is probably that there is no cure or that vitamins are worthless or everyone would be on them. But, if you read articles like this
http://www.altmedrev.com/publications/13/4/287.pdf
then you find that ideas of are not so far fetched or without facts to support them.
Since completely abandoning your meds and going on random vitamins will just about guarantee putting you back in the mental hospital, then how would you go about even seeing if vitamin therapy works at all?
When dealing with meds, the best way to find the med that works for you is to determine what receptor malfunctions you have and what receptor malfunctions each med works on so you can choose wisely what to go on. Then you carefully switch from one to the other (working with your doctor). The same is true with vitamins. You determine what you need based on your symptoms and how much you need based on how your body responds. There are links everywhere for vitamin deficiency symptoms and vitamin overdose symptoms - for example
http://www.nutritionatc.hawaii.edu/HO/2007/378.htm
It’s interesting that B3 and B6 deficiency symptoms include neurologic symptoms. B12 deficiency can cause Paranoia, Psychosis and Hallucinations, Depression, OCD. Considering this, it should be considered that taking these vitamins could at least help with schizophrenia. What shocked me is that specific vitamin deficiencies can CAUSE schizophrenic symptoms! That’s when I started looking into it further. I was always told it was a combination of genetic errors that when triggered caused a neurological failure creating excessive Dopamine/Serotonin in the brain that caused schizophrenic symptoms that could only be “covered” by meds if you were lucky enough to find a med that worked for you. But when we couldn’t find a med that worked, then we started looking elsewhere. Looking into vitamins has not been a waste of our time.

I’m such a carnivore there’s almost no way I have a B12 deficiency, too bad for me. Interesting stuff, though.

Everyone is different. B6 is a typical deficiency for schizophrenics, but my brother has no B6 deficiency. It’s the same with drugs. What works for one person doesn’t work for another. You have to find what your body needs. We started with a full high quality B-Complex, and when that helped, then we started exploring which B Vitamins specifically helped and which ones didn’t. From there we started exploring how much of which ones his body needed. At first we were just trying to decrease the schizophrenia symptoms. Now we’ve found that when he’s balanced on vitamins, the side effects of his meds go away as well.

I got psychotic the first time after 8 months eating only pizza, cookies and spaghetti, all processed.

Oh ya. Diet is a huge factor, and that is well documented. Holding to a strict diet was one of the first things my brother was told to do. For example, it is well known that soda strips your body of its vitamins. Lots of processed foods destroy the health of anyone who eats them.

there’s a movie called "When The Voices Fell Silent"
trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxRqFl6MsYs
the guy did neurotransmitter tests and by healing his gut and adjusting the levels he healed

from Sean Miller
"the first thing I did that helped to turn my situation around was find an integrative health practitioner who was able to get to the root of the problem and eliminate it. He administered various tests and then through a combination of diet, supplements, exercise and medication we corrected imbalances/deficiencies in my body. I am now completely medication and symptom free. You can get more details from the documentary and our website www.thrivementalhealth.ca"

Taking Niacinamide with Quercetin on the side if necessary works very well at eliminating most of the B3 flush.

These doctors you’ve mentioned and these vitamin companies would all be the richest people on earth if they could cure schizophrenia. Sounds hollow, and giving false hope makes our plight more to bear.

The drug companies handing out meds for SZ and other things are the richest people on earth as they have successfully got all the doctors telling patients that vitamins are a waste of time. When my brother told his doctor that he was taking some vitamins, the doctor immediately dropped him and refused to work with him anymore. Not to mention that vitamins don’t even have a fraction of the profit that drugs do anyway. And we all know that the drugs don’t cure anything. They just cover symptoms at best if you’re lucky.
Considering I’ve heard different opinions on the cause of SZ, I wouldn’t consider anything false hope until you have actually tried it yourself and proved it to be false. The post referenced a doctor with documented formal SZ testing and documented patients who’ve recovered. So how is that giving false hope?
Have you tried B3 to see if it helps you at all?

I’m not sure if you realize but those big pharma companies also have a huge stake in vitamin supplements. But yes psych drugs are quite profitable

I gave up sugar and ive recovered from schizophrenia

Wow! Fantastic! You must not have been that far out of balance. Lucky you! That’s pretty unusual for an SZ.
