Craving carbs

Been on a protein and vegetable diet but craving carbs and started eating rice and gluten-free bread. Gaining weight but can’t give up carbs. What to do.

Why gluten free bread? That’s typically more calories and worse ingredients than regular bread.

Bought it at Costco, looked and sounded healthy.

I’ve been eating nothing but carbs!
I can’t stop either! :worried:

Hey I was recently recommended a nutrition service by a personal trainer at the gym I go to. It’s called Precision Nutrition. They offer coaching for men and women or you can just buy their Precision Nutrition Guide and learn about nutrition. They claim that it does not matter what diet you follow and that carbs aren’t the enemy. You have to learn to portion your meals. Practically every diet, from paleo, atkins, low carb, high carb to vegetarian all work. This is due to the amazing adaptive abilities of the human body. I ordered the Guide, it will be arriving soon. I will let you know how it is.

you shouldn’t restrict carbs on antipsychotics. Carbs can invrease serotonin levels

I would suggest buying a sugar substitute like Splenda or Stevia and do a search online for dessert recipes that are made for sugar substitutes. Splenda is a little pricey but it measures cup to cup with sugar if you know what I mean. I mean if you are cooking something that asks for a cup of sugar, you could use a cup of Splenda instead.

There’s hundreds of recipes using Splenda and some are so simple that they take only 5 to ten minutes to make and they only have three or four ingredients.
Here’s some things I used to make when I lived on my own.
Various cookies like sugar cookies, peanut butter, chocolate chip. Cheesecake, pudding, rice pudding, custard, drinks, pancakes, waffles.
