Couple of questions about amnesia

i’ve had one complete episode of amnesia
spanning about 8 - 14 hours
woke up lying in the middle of the pavement and had no idea how it got dark or any memory at all about the previous 8 hours +
i was unwell with schizophrenia but had no alcohol at all
has this happened to you ever?
i have not regained any part of the memory of that time

anyone have any idea
my sister’s alcoholic and has psychosis she sometimes forgets where she is and how she got there in the middle of the conversation
she’s said things like did i just go to sleep? is it the next day?
while forgetting what we gad been saying

i read that should this happen it’s basically a medical emergency
but that article doesn’t mention alcohol
is this usual for alcoholic people of a really bad case or real danger sign specifically?

I had memory problems when psychotic.

i have no clue how i got there
someone shook me awake
i had absconded and had been smoking dope with a guy i went to his car but i have a vague memory of thinking that he hadn’t hurt me when he drove away
that was hours before i woke up on the pavement in the dark
equally vague memory was him saying he’s saved something to smoke for me after all the dope was gone

I had a couple blackouts in the mental hospital. I presume I acted “normally” during those times of which I have no memory.
