Anyone else relate?

I constantly worry about something breaking in my car. I don’t want to spend a lot of money fixing a car that’s worth about $3000. I’ve been saving money to buy a “new” used car but i only have about half of what I’ll need. Driving makes me anxious cuz I’m always worried I’m going to break down at the side of the road.
I panic when I have to pull over
I try and to as much of the basic maintenance as I can myself to set money aside for the things I can’t do. Never thought I’d be able to do my own brakes, but yay for Youtube.
I couldn’t dream of having the confidence to try and fix my brakes.
Plus I think in my state you can’t even work on your own car anymore
I was embarrassed when I realized how easy it is. Check out a Youtube channel called Chrisfix. The guy takes the fear out of a lot of car repair. The only complaint I have about him is that he is too @#$% cheerful. Annoying.
Anyhow, you’ll be amazed at how much you can do on your own with a basic toolkit and some self-confidence.
This is one of the reasons I sold my car…
Car mechanic would take advantage of me because I have money.
I’m retired/ work from home so I rarely drive.
I’m just gonna uber and Lyft everywhere to save money.
I’m currently borrowing my moms boyfriends car for the winter because I have a garage and he doesn’t…
If I make it big some day my dream car is a ford mustang gt.
Same I did my brakes myself when I had my car … it was a pain in the ass but I some got it done twice…
I have a house and a car. Lately, everything has been breaking. I’ve been hemorrhaging money. Now I need to get 2 crowns for my teeth. Hope some of it is covered by insurance. Need to get my air ducts clean in my house. Currently, getting new gutters. Have to waterproof a basement wall myself, I bought the stuff. Just changed a battery in my car. Need to get a new sump pump this year. The only glimmer of hope is after 27 years, this year my student loans will be paid off. There’s more but that’s pretty much enough.
