I might be going on Clozaril/Clozapine soon as I’ve been on numerous antipsychotics and none seem to work well enough. Was wondering people’s experiences with it on here.
The weekly blood work seems annoying, and the side effects seem numerous, but I suppose that latter thing is normal with all antipsychotics.
I turned down Clozapine and went on Amisulpride and it was the best decision I made. Amisulpride is second only to Clozapine, and at the moment I get no side effects.
Amisulpride isn’t available in the United States unfortunately

Ah your in the US I really don’t get why it isn’t available over there.
I take clozapine for 4 or 5 months.
It’s not the miracle drug everyone talks about
I took it for a couple of years and it made no drastic difference compared to other antipsychotics.
Drooling excessively
Zombie in day
Oversleeping
Once wet my bed in hospital
Side effects too bad so I stopped it
I’m on Loxapine which is chemically close to clozapine. Unfortunately a rare side effect is liver problems and my liver enzymes are elevated. I’m going to see my pdoc about this.
Clozapine is great for me.
I feel good on it.
Other meds werent nearly as good !!
I like it. It works well for me
