Everything clozapine

Hey everyone! I would like to discuss everything about clozapine. What side effects did you have while using it? What positive effects did it have on you? I have stomach pain while on clozapine right now and increased appetite. I’m using clozapine as a last ditch attempt to overcome the illness I have. Other antipsychotics didn’t do anything for it.

Sorry you had no other option. Fingers crossed for you that it helps

Here in England it’s regarded as the good standard

I stopped one drug short of it and found Amisulpride. It saved me. I hope this will do the same for you too!

Best of luck

I’ve been taking Clozaril for over 10 years now. It’s a great medication to treat schizophrenia. It really helps to stun the voices, and paranoia. It.can help to make you stable. A lot of side effects though. Constipation, excessive drooling before sleep, pressure behind eyes. Long term side effects can make your brain feel foggy. I’ve done really well with it. I would recommend it. Always be sure to get your labs on time. Withdraws can be very extreme and no fun. I plan on talking to my prescriber about lowering my dose, and to ask for a new psych. med.
I feel the 400 mg. dose is too high. I would like to get it lowered to 100 mg. and start Abilfy or Latuda.

I take it since 2019.
400mg currently.
Except for drooling and sleeping 12 hours,
no other side effects

I am on clozaril, since january 2011, neary 11 years, and it has worked really well for me, side effects are tough though, and those include weight gain, sedation, hyper salavation, constipation, bur overall pro out weigh the cons!

I for sure would choose to use Clozapine if it wasn’t for the fact that my triple combination didn’t work so well for me since I’m treatment resistant.

Went unconscious after taking clozapine for a week. They had to call an ambulance.

I am sorry to tell you this, but it is very heavy on side effects. It is considered the drug of last resort, and once they put you on it, it means that no doctor would even consider changing it.

But, if you are unwell, I think you have no other options. I was on Clozapine, and I prefer two antipsychotics that I take now over Clozapine. I was taking 800 mgs Clozapine once and was in partial remission.
