Does anyone take this medicine? I 've heard it doesn’t help with the positive symptoms, but it does with the negative ones, is that true? I used to be on it but but I kept being delusional, but I don’t know if it was from that or from bupropion (antidepressant) which acts antagonistically with antipsychotics. So, I am thinking of taking it again.
I take this. It works amazing for me. No nasty side effects. Havent been delusional since I been on it which was the main thing that caused me grief. I’m interested to see if many take this as they dont sell it in america for some reason.
Thank you for your answer! I’m glad it helped you, it is also good for negative symptoms I 've heard, what about these, do you have any? Really, I have tried many antipsychotics (almost all except from Olanzapine, Clozapine and Quetiapine) and they weren’t actually good or they had big side effects. The three I haven’t tried will cause me more weight gain, as I already weigh a lot, so I don’t want to try them.
Dont really have negative symptoms either which is good. Im honestly shocked how good these meds are. Ive been on several in the past olanzapine etc and they were horrible. But these are perfect for me. Everyone is different though I suppose.
I can relate! Been on Risperdone, Paliperidone, Abilify, Geodon and none of them helped me. Only Risperdal when I started taking it, but it was only for a while…Now I am delusional, I have anxiety, weight gain, depression (just like you had when you felt delusional, for the same reason), and many many other symptoms/side effects. It’s like not being on medication, as its functionality faded…Of course everyone is different, but I believe everyone has a medicine that helps him/her. As for me, none of the previous one have helped, so, why not trying Amisulpride? Thanks again for your answer, I really appreciate it.
Yeah theres a right med for every person I reckon. Amisulpride works wonders for me. I say give it go! I hope it works well for you let us know how you go
Thank you! I will let you go. The only thing I am afraid of except if they work for me, is that my doctor may not want to change my meds. I hope I will persuade him…
I meant “I will let you know”!
I take amisulpride 600mg and it worked well for me, but lately I had to get a second med to help me more, because it seemed to have lost its strength, so now I’m on 2.5mg olanzapine as well and keeping stable.
i take 200 mg of it and its enough to keep the wolf from the door
i also take anti anxiety med Pregablin which i think is amazing
i think one of the main reasons it wasn’t approved in the us is because of the side effects, there are some side effects just like any other anti psychotic except i think the one that causes breast enlargement in men was one of the main reasons it wasn’t approved idk why.
Thank you for your answer! Do you have delusions, hallucinations? Is it the only antipsychotic you are on? Have you gained weight?
yes its the only one i take and it seems to help with almost all of my symptoms only thing it doesn’t help me with is a slight dullness in my brain that keeps me subdued but is a lot more minimal than the risperidone i use to take and i think all the antipsychotics leave you with that kind of dullness anyway,
but yeah i take 100mgs in the morning and at night just before dinner (or sometimes after) and its really good for me,
the anti anxiety med is helping with my tension and stuff and i take 1 of those in the morning and 2 at night,
i take so little bc i’ve always been extremely sensitive to meds so i guess thats why i need less.
I 'm sorry that you are sensitive to meds! Ok, as I see from most of you here, amisulpride helps, but did you gain weight with it? Sorry that I ask you too many questions, I am pretty anxious about this.
i didn’t but i am on a very small dose
I just take this medicine to counteract my anxiety.
Thank you for your answer!
Ok, so you must take it in a small dose, I hope it helps!
I am on amisulpride 300mg and have been on it for more than one year.
It is a good med because it keeps voices and delusions away whereas it
does not give me horrible side effects such as a difficulty speaking,
blurred visions and akathesia . The only problem bothering me is high
prolactin level which resulted in a sciatic pain for me. Apart from
prolactin level, the minor problems amisulpride causes are a mild weight
gain , a little drowsy after swallowing the med, fatigue. You can know more here internationaldrugmart.com/amisulpride.shtml
