Been really anxious this morning. And when I close my eyes I worry axes and knives are thrown at me. I flinch at the quick movement
I see these closed eyes visions.
They don’t worry me.
Open eyes visions worry me.
I see animals with closed eyes, especially bears, dogs and for some strange reason, monkeys. Especially when going to sleep.
It must be annoying seeing knives and stuff like that.
I see colors when I close my eyes, especially when I go to sleep. It doesn’t bother me.
I get a lot of closed eye visuals, @anon94176359.
They’re mostly benign, so that’s good.
Maybe the knives and axes represent some anxieties around people hurting you?
I dunno, just a theory.
Either way, just know they’re only visuals and nothing more.
Hope you’re well
I get lots of those, including faces and sometimes demons. Colours and dynamic scenes too.
I mostly just see colourful patterns, unless I’m tired then I see more realistic visuals.
Do you mean the movement of your eyelids makes you flinch? This happens to me when I am in major panic mode, usually from lack of sleep.
No I more meant when I closed my eye I saw a knife/axe weapon fly straight at me. I totally flinched
I had disturbing closed eye “visions” on seroquel. Seroquel just didn’t suit me.
I don’t like it when it happens. If I can not turn it off, its like something I am forced to watch. It feels uncomfortable.
The colours and dynamics is something all experience, it’s called entoptic phenomena, i once read a book, that said those phenomenons were the start of religious thinking.

It the same with “floaters” the strange spirals you can watch with open eyes.
You should read “Spinning Gears” a Japanese short story / suicide note about the authors decline in to madness because of these spinning gears / floaters… It’s a chocking read, in the style of Strindberg who is quoted a lot.
Ps. When talking about madness, have you read Strindbergs “Inferno” you promised me to read it and i am going to be pissed if you still haven’t read it
Thomas de Quincey also saw faces but it was when he was addicted to opium. It nearly drove him mad, he sees an Asian face that keeps popping up. He also saw moving architecture of big cities (megapolis)
(confession of a opiumeater) - a kindred spirit
He was addicted to opium most of his life but he still managed to write and philosophize .
I just see animals and sometimes absurd tableaus that makes me laugh so i cant sleep. No scary stuff, but it makes me sleepless.
Inferno is next once I’m done with R. D. Laing’s The Divided Self…
I read his Confessions ages ago inspired by Baudelaire own texts on artificial paradises.
Yeah on Tuesday night whenever I closed my eyes there was a guy from the medieval times with half a leather mask staring right at me. And there was some black horses.
Closed eye images happen to me a fair bit
I used to see things in my head when I closed my eyes, but that was before meds. Now I struggle to visualize things, I can do it, but it strains me and if I do it for too long I get a headache.
I saw closed eye visual hallucinations. One time they were interactive monsters and super scary. And another time they were just beautiful colors and lights like stars.
That reminds me of something I once experienced when I was psychotic. I would close my eyes and see this dragon like monster thing trying to torment me. In my mind I put it in a cage and locked it inside to get rid of it, the voices I heard told me doing that wouldn’t work but it did work. It never tormented me again.
I’ve had paranoia that when I closed my eyes to go to sleep, bugs and monsters would be all over the walls, which was terrifying. Then I’d open my eyes, and they would disappear. They were tricking me, so they could get me.
