Been reading that Elon Musk is working on a chip that goes in your skull, and might cure issues with the brain.

Would you have the chip installed if he is right?

Kinda seems sort of tragic, as a lot of people have delusions about stuff like this

I have had a pacemaker to correct my heart function since age twelve and it’s been a boon to me, despite sometimes having issues with delusions about it being an alien monitoring/control implant. I’d have no issues with a brain chip that had passed proper clinical trials.

No thanks 15544

It can’t be any worse than the meds

I guess how desperate I am. I need motivation bad right now. Might wait a few years and see how it goes.

I had delusions about brainchips during prodromal, don’t need to go there again. I don’t think it’s necessary either. At least not to cure SZ.

I don’t want brain-altering technology past my skin. That’s opening the doors to transhumanism. I don’t want to merge with machines.

No. Not if they would give me a million dollars to try it. I already have huge issues with what meds did to me and such a chip is a whole different level of scary.

It is unnatural. I wouldnt trust it.

  • I would fear the technology failing and doing weird stuff to my brain or body.
  • I think people are arrogant to mess in such an intrusive way with something as complex as a brain and a mind. It feels like asking a toddler to fix my car: he wouldnt even understand how much he doesnt understand and how much irrepairable damage he does and i highly suspect it will be more broken than it was to begin with.
  • I would not trust big tech companies and see all sorts of possibilities for a sliding scale of controlling and adjusting people’s minds. Creepy.
  • I just prefer my own flawed brain with my own weird thoughts over a technologically “enhanced” fake version.
  • Who decides who gets it and what the chip does? Will it be forced like meds?

I wish they would forbid such research.

No. It would make me feel too outside myself

Yes I would do it can you post an article?

I’ve already got the mark of the beast in me no thanks.

See how you feel about that when you pass fifty and you realize the decaying meatbot your software is running on is starting to fall apart. Upload me into the damn matrix already, Tank.

I’ll take my mortality.

Also, look at that Ellis water guy. Built like a rock at 90. I’m not going to take this entropy fight kneeling.

We’re natural toolmakers. Not a crime to benefit from the technological advances that spring from it. Don’t want to be immortal, but I’d like to stretch my time a bit more.

That’s reasonable, but I don’t want to implant tech in me for that end. I don’t think that’s necessary.

Organic stuff is okay, like I wouldn’t mind full lab grown elbow replacements, but anything psychologically altering is not philosophically ok with me. Like the whole transhumanism agenda scares me.

I think your life will be extended without those augments, anyways.

Is there any actual legit research for the Eliis water? I’ve yet to find anything that doesn’t reek of snake oil promotion. I mean, everything about the product looks sketchy A.F. Honestly, the Facebook ads for the pocket solar generators that can supposedly power an entire block look more legit.

I know, it’s really sparse. I’m trialling it out on myself.

There’s very little info on it. You don’t have to take the leap yet. But keep an eye out.

Right now I figure I’m doing better by drinking more ordinary water instead of MIO crap!

Google it.

Not just sz, but all brain injuries

Nope! I worry I already do have a chip in my brain, don’t want another one.
