Does schizophrenia.com have any plans to implement a chatroom for it’s users? What constitutes a valid external link for a forum post? My messages about an irc chat channel keep getting deleted.

I have a hard time following the chat in a chat room when several ppl are online at the same time. But everyone is different.

There is also the option to chat privately with one or more users. I find that using text really helps for clarity in any case
“as opposed to the forum” Are you trying to convert people over from here or just letting us know that there is a chat room.
Yes, we are hoping for new chatters and I’m not actually supposed to let you know there is a chat room administered and frequented by people with mental illness. The admins have explained why and I’m hoping they might reconsider at some point. There are other good resources for being slightly more social than usual that some of us have, for example I try to frequent the local clubhouse for people with mental illness in my town. They have dinners sometimes and encourage people to hang out together.

If some established member of this forum was going to start a chat room, or even recommend one then I’d be fine with it. But it’s these random guys off the Internet who sign up and spam the forum with ads for their chat rooms, with no connection to us whatsoever, that annoy me.

I get too much chat. It seems I’m constantly Skyping with someone throughout the day and night.
Wow, yeah I don’t use Skype unless I absolutely have to. I’m not sure why the irc chat format appeals to me so much, but it seems to work in my case. I do try to get out of the house if I can.
